Resolution Awarding Bid For The Purchase Of LED Street Lights To
Greenstar Products, Inc., In The Amount Of $169,125.00, With An
Option To Purchase Additional Units At $18,250.00; And To Kriz-
Davis Company In The Amount Of $389,005.00, With An Option To
Purchase Additional Units At $201,115.00
WHEREAS, the City Council approved an ARRA Federal Grant for the purchase
of energy efficient LED street light fixtures on October 20, 2009, and the Traffic Control
Division evaluated and tested lights from multiple sources over a 6-month period;
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls advertised and requested proposals for the
purchase of LED Street light fixtures, and proposals were received and publicly
acknowledged on July 19, 2010; and,
WHEREAS, based on the relative importance of price and other specified
evaluation factors, the City has determined the most advantageous proposal for Type 1
LED street lights is from Greenstar Products, Inc. and the most advantageous proposal
for Types 2 through 5 street lights is from Kriz-Davis Company, as described in
Attachment B.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The bids for the purchase of LED street lights are awarded to Greenstar
Products, Inc., in the amount of $169,125.00 for Type 1 street lights, with an option to
purchase additional units at $18,250.00, and to Kriz-Davis Company for Types 2
through 5 street lights in the amount of $389,005.00, with an option to purchase
additional units at $201,115.00, as described in Attachment B, and City staff is
authorized to execute all documents necessary to purchase said items.
