ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE SPECIAL
REVENUE FUND FOR GRANT FUNDING [RECEIVED FROM THE
TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF STATE HEALTH SERVICES AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT
ACCEPTING SAME; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE
MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE WAS PASSED WAS OPEN
TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the Wichita Falls- Wichita County Public Health District has been
offered special revenue from the Texas Department of State Health Services; and;
WHEREAS, HIV represents a significant health risk to the citizens of our
community; and;
WHEREAS, the Public Health District and the Department of State Health
Services desire to enter into a contract for HIV prevention activities; and;
WHEREAS, the approval of these funds could not have been anticipated prior to
the adoption of the 2005 -2006 budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1 . There is hereby appropriated in the Special Revenue Fund
$141,423 for the HIV Prevention Program and the City Manager is authorized to enter
into a contract with the Texas Department of State Health Services for the Wichita
Falls- Wichita County Public Health District.
SECTION 2 . It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
