ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 14 -1 OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES, TO INCLUDE A DEFINITION FOR "CRUELLY
TREATED;" FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT
WHICH THIS ORDINANCE: WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the term "cruelly treated" is not defined by the ordinance regulating
animal cruelty cases; and,
WHEREAS, such definition would assist citizens and staff in determining what
constitutes a cruelly treated animal.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1 . Section 14 -1 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Wichita Falls
is hereby amended to include a definition for "cruelly treated," which definition shall
hereafter read as follows:
"Sec. 14 -1. Definitions.
Cruelly treated includes tortured; seriously overworked; abandoned; deprived of
necessary food, care, or shelter; cruelly confined; or caused to fight with another
animal."
SECTION 2 . It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
