AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS CALLING FOR A SPECIAL - GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELEC TON
TO BE HELD ON MAY 7, 2005, NAMING POLLING PLACES AND
ELECTION OFFICIALS FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE
MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE WAS PASSED WAS OPEN
TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, Mayor Pro Tern Arthur Bea Williams issued an order this date
calling that a Special - General Municipal Election be held on May 7, 2005 for the
purpose of electing a Mayor (unexpired term), Councilor at Large, Councilor District 1,
and Councilor District 2, and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Chapter 83 of the ELECTION CODE, the City Clerk
is designated the Early Voting Clerk', and
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls Texas is authorized by law to hold such
election on May 7, 2005.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE Cl TY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS THAT
SECTION 1. It is hereby ordered that a Special General Municipal Election shall
be held in the City of Wichita Falls on May 7, 2005, for the purpose Of electing a Mayor
(Unexpired Term), Councilor at Large, Councilor District 1 and Couneilo District 2.
Such election shall be held at the polling places with the election judges,, shown on
Exhibit A, attached hereto for all purposes.
SECTION 2. It is hereby ordered that the City Clerk is designated the Early
Voting Clark.
SECTION 3. The rate of pay for election officials shall be set at $8.00lhour.
SECTION 4. It is officially found and determined that the meeting at which this
ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
