ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, ACCEPTING AND APPROPRIATING THE FUNDS
RECEIVED FROM A DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY,
ASSISTANCE TO FIREFIGHTERS GRANT, FINDING AND
DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE
WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, The City of Wichita Falls is currently implementing a new radio
system for its Public Safety Departments', and
WHEREAS, The United States Department of Homeland Security offers an
Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program to assist with varying needs including public
safety communications; and
WHEREAS, The City of Wichita Falls has applied for and received a grant in the
amount of $304,719 to assist with the procurement and installation of two -way radios
for the Fire Department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT
SECTION 1 . A grant award in the amount of $304,719 from the United States
Department - of Homeland Security Is hereby accepted and funds from which are
appropriated for the purpose of procuring and installing two -way radios for the Fire
Department.
SECTION 2 . It Is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ORDINANCE was passed was open lathe public as required by law.
