ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, MAKING AN APPROPRIATION IN THE GENERAL
FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $723,733 TO ESTABLISH A TEMPORARY
FUNDING SOURCE FOR THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT BUILDING
EXPANSION PROJECT; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE
MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE WAS PASSED WAS OPEN
TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the City Council has previously authorized a project to expand the
Health Department facility; and
WHEREAS, architectural plans have been completed and bids have been
received for this construction project; and
WHEREAS, in order to award the bid and begin construction on the project, it is
necessary to identify available funding sources to be used for the project, and
WHEREAS, the City desires to dedicate Community Development Block Grant
funds and special revenue funds received for Medicaid reimbursements to complete
this project, and
WHEREAS, previous City Council actions have earmarked $989,017 of CDBG
Funds for this project, and
WHEREAS, sufficient CDBG funds to complete the project will not be available
until a future grant award, and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to temporarily dedicate General City Funds
for this project until additional CDBG funds are available .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
01= WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1 . General Funds in the amount of $723,733 are hereby appropriated
for the Health Department Facility Expansion Project.
SECTION 2. Be it further ordained that as additional CDBG and Medicaid
reimbursement funds are made available for this project, that General City funds will be
unencumbered for this project and released to General Fund Balances.
SECTION 3 . It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
