ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING A FRANCHISE FOR A SPECIAL
SERVICE VEHICLE TO TRANS STAR, INC., DBA STAR
TRANSPORTATION, FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE
MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO
THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the City Clerk has received an application from Ryan Matthews,
President of Trans Star, Inc. dba Star transportation, for a special service vehicle
franchise to operate within the City limits; and
WHEREAS, the application submitted meets the requirements as set forth in
Chapter 110 of the Code of Ordinances regulating Vehicles for Hire; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was conducted to receive comments regarding the
granting of such franchise.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1 . A franchise for a special service vehicle is hereby authorized to
Trans Star, Inc., dba Star Transportation, as provided for in Chapter 110 of the Code of
Ordinances. This franchise shall expire on July 5, 2010.
SECT 2 . A total of three (3) special service vehicle permit is authorized for
said franchise for medically related transports of persons to and /or from medical
facilities who are unable to use normal taxicab services.
SECTION 3 . It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
