AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT A
BULLETPROOF VEST PARTNERSHIP GRANT AND TO APPROPRIATE
FEDERAL FUNDS INTO THE BUDGET; FINDING AND DETERMINING
THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE WAS PASSED
WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls applied for a Bulletproof Vest Partnership
grant to purchase bulletproof vests for officers of the Police Department; and
WHEREAS, the Bulletproof Vest Partnership grant has been awarded by the
Bureau of Justice Assistance at a 1 to 1 matching ratio with the federal amount being
$5,429.05 and the City's matching amount being $5,429.05 for a total grant award of
$10,858.10.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1 . The City Manager is authorized to accept the Bulletproof Vest
Partnership grant from the Bureau of Justice Assistance, Department of Justice.
SECTION 2. The City Manager is authorized to appropriate $5,429.05 in
Federal funds into the Office of Justice Programs fund.
SECTION 3 . It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this Ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
