AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AN AMENDMENT TO
REINVESTMENT ZONE #1 (TAX INCREMENT FINANCING DISTRICT)
TO INCLUDE A PORTION OF BLOCKS 166, 173 & 185; FINDING AND
DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THISORDINANCE
WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to promote reinvestment in the downtown
area to improve its vitality, diversity, and to increase the assessed valuation of the area,
and
WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Ordinance #79 -2000 that amended the
Reinvestment Zone #1 boundaries, and
WHEREAS, it was the intent of the three taxing districts to include portions of
Blocks 166, 173 and 185 in that Zone amendment, which were excluded in error.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT
SEC TION 1. The boundary of the Reinvestment Zone #1 (Tax Increment
Financing District) shall be amended to include the western half of Blocks 166, 173 and
185 as described in Attachment 2, Revised Boundary Description.
SEC TION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
