ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING A BUDGET AMENDMENT TO THE
2003 -04 BUDGET IN THE AMOUNT OF $40,000 TO PROVIDE FOR AN
INCREASE IN POLICE ENFORCEMENT ACTIVITIES, FINDING AND
DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE
WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, at the City Council meeting of February 3, 2004, the City Council
approved an award of bid for the purchase of police cars that resulted in a budgetary
savings in excess of $60,000, and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to realign the 2003 -04 budget by
reallocating $40,000 of this savings from the Fleet Maintenance Budget to the Police
Department to provide for increased funding for police enforcement activities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT
SECTION _1 The 2003 -04 budget is hereby amended as outlined in the
attachment entitled "2003 -04 Budgetary Amendment for Police Activities" to allow for an
additional $40,000 to be allocated to the Police Department for increased police
presence for drug enforcement activities and other programs designed to reduce crime.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
