AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, CALLING FOR A GENERAL ELECTION
TO BE HELD MAY 15, 2004, AND NAMING POLLING PLACES AND
ELECTION OFFICIALS; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE
MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE WAS PASSED WAS OPEN
TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the City Council has issued an order this date ordering that a
General Election be held on May 15, 2004, for the purpose of electing a Mayor,
Councilor District 3, Councilor District 4, and Councilor District 5, and,
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, is authorized by law to hold such an
election on May 15, 2004, and,
WHEREAS, in accordance with Chapter 83 of the ELECTION CODE the City Clerk
is designated the Early Voting Clerk.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS THAT
SE 1. It is hereby ordered that a general election shall be held in the City
of Wichita Falls on May 15, 2004, for the purpose of electing a Mayor, Councilor District
3, Councilor District 4 and Councilor District 5. Such election shall be held at the polling
places with the election judges shown on Exhibit A, attached hereto for all purposes.
S ECTIO N 2. It is hereby ordered that the City Clerk is designated the Early
Voting Clerk.
SEC 3 , The rate of pay for election officials shall be set at $8.00 /hour.
SE CTION 4 . It is officially found and determined that the meeting at which this
ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
