ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, WAIVING SECTION 82 -58 OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES TO PERMIT DRIVING UPON THE GRASS BY
PARTICIPANT FLYERS DURING A PYLON MODEL AIRCRAFT RACE
BY THE WICHITA FALLS RADIO CONTROL CLUB MAY 14, 15, AND 16,
2004, FROM 8:00 A.M. TO 5:00 P.M. EACH DAY IN LAKE WICHITA
PARK; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH
THIS ORDINANCE WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS
REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the Wichita Falls Radio Control Club wishes to host a model aircraft
pylon race event at the runway site in Lucy Park May 14, 15, and 16, 2004, and
WHEREAS, in order for their event to be more successful, they request
permission for their participants only to drive vehicles upon the grass near the runway;
and
WHEREAS, no problems have been reported with similar events by the Club.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT
S ECTION 1. Section 82 -58 of the Code of Ordinances is hereby waived to permit
driving upon the grass by participant flyers during a pylon model aircraft race by the
Wichita Falls Radio Control Club May 14, 15, and 16, 2004, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
each day at the runway site in Lake Wichita Park.
S ECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
