ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE SPECIAL
REVENUE FUND FOR ADDITIONAL GRANT REVENUE FROM THE
STATE OF TEXAS FOR THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION SELECTIVE ENFORCEMENT PROGRAM WAVE
GRANT (FY 2004) FOR TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT, AND AUTHORIZING
THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT SAME; FINDING AND
DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE
WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has been invited to participate in a direct
award from the State of Texas, Department of Transportation for the purpose of
selective enforcement, and
WHEREAS, the primary emphasis will be on increasing the number of citations
issued for the non -use of occupant restraints by adults and any front seat occupant as
well as other uses authorized by the grant during the holiday period, and
WHEREAS, the holiday period will span May 24, 2004 through June 6, 2004.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1 . There is to be appropriated $10,000 in the Special Revenue Fund
for the purpose of selective traffic enforcement, as authorized in the grant from the
Texas Department of Transportation, and the City Manager is authorized to accept
same on behalf of the City of Wichita Falls.
SECTION 2 . It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
