Resolution Authorizing The City Manager To Execute All Documents
Necessary To Accept American Recovery And Reinvestment Act
Funds Totaling $218,525 From The Department Of Energy (DOE) For
Weatherization And HVAC Upgrades At Various City-Owned
Buildings.
WHEREAS, the President of the United States signed into law the American
Recovery and Reinvestment Act on February 17, 2009;
WHEREAS, a part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act allows for
the installation of more energy efficient windows and HVAC units to reduce the amount
of energy consumed in the United States, and
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls desires to accept $218,525 of American
Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds to install more energy efficient windows and
upgrade HVAC systems in its City-owned facilities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Manager is authorized to execute a grant funding agreement with the
U.S. Department of Energy and all other documents necessary to accept American
Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds to install more energy efficient windows in the
Memorial Auditorium and upgrade HVAC systems in the City Library/Recreation Facility.
