Ord 091-2004 11/16/2004ORDINANCE N0. AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS CALLING FOR A SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON FEBRUARY 5, 2005', FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW WHEREAS, the City Clerk received a petition along with affidavits signed by the required number of qualified voters of the City of Wichita Fells, Texas to call for special election on the issue of recalling Mayor William K. Altman, and WHEREAS, the City Clerk, in compliance with the City Charter, provided the City Council a Certificate of Sufficiency, advising them that the next authorized uniform election date would be the first Saturday in February 2005, and WHEREAS, Mayor William K. Altman has decided not to resign as allowed in Section 28 of the City Charter: therefore, the City Council shall call for a Special Election. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS THAT SECTION 1. It Is hereby ordered that a Special Election be held in the City of Wichita Falls, Texas on February 5, 2005 on the question of the recall of Mayor William K. Altman, SECTION 2. In accordance with Section 30 of the City Charter, the propositions on the recall shall be submitted as follows in the order indicated. "Far the recall of Mayor William K. Altman" "Against the recall of Mayor William K. Altman" SECTION4. It is officially found and determined that the meeting at which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
