ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, MAKING AN ADJUSTMENT TO THE TERM AND
REVENUES AWARDED FOR A CURRENT CONTRACT AND MAKING
AN APPROPRIATION TO THE SPECIAL REVENUE FUND FOR GRANT
FUNDING RECEIVED FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF STATE HEALTH
SERVICES AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A
CONTRACT ACCEPTING THE SAME, FINDING AND DETERMINING
THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE WAS PASSED
WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the Wichita Falls Wichita County Public Health District has been
offered an amended grant contract and additional revenues from the Department of
State Health Services', and
WHEREAS, STD /HIV represents a significant health risk to the ci0zens In our
community, and
WHEREAS, the Health District and the Department of State Health Services
wish to enter Into a contract for STD /HIV services, and
WHEREAS, the approval of these funds could not have been anticipated prior to
the adoption of the 2004 -2005 budget.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT
SECTIO 1 . There is hereby accepted an amended contract with the
Department of State Health Services reducing the term of our current STDIHIV contract
from twelve months to four months (ending December 31, 2004) and the previously
awarded amount from $23.42210 $7A07.
S ECTION 2. There is hereby appropriated in the Special Revenue Fund
$23422 for the STDd -IIV program and the City Manager is authorized to enter into a
contract with the Department of State Health Services for the Wichita Falls Wichita County Public Health District for the contract period of January 1. 2005 to December
31 2005
SECT ION 1 It Is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
