Resolution authorizing the purchase of eleven (11) in-car video
systems and three (3) Cyclevision motorcycle video systems form L -
3 Communications Mobile-Vision, Inc., in the amount of $65,975.00
WHEREAS, Texas Local Government Local Government Code §252.022
exempts items purchased through interlocal cooperative purchasing contracts from the
State’s competitive bidding requirements as follows:
This chapter does not apply to expenditure for. . . (12) personal property
sold: under an interlocal contract for cooperative purchasing
administered by a regional planning commission established under
Chapter 391.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Wichita Falls has passed a resolution
approving the participation in such cooperative agreements; and,
WHEREAS, Sections 252.022 (a) 7 (A) of the Texas Local Government provides
exemption from competitive bidding of certain purchases, specifically for “items that are
available from only one source because of patents, copyrights, secret pr ocesses, or
natural monopolies; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to purchase eleven (11) in-car digital video
systems for police patrol vehicles; and three (3) Cyclevision systems for the BMW
motorcycles.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
Authorization is granted to purchase eleven (11) in-car video systems and three
(3) Cyclevision motorcycle video systems from L-3 Communications Mobile-Vision, Inc.,
in the amount of $65,975.00.
