Resolution Authorizing The City Manager To Execute All Documents
Necessary To Apply For Grant Funds From The Edward Byrne
Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program In The Amount Of
$60,372.00 With Co-Applicant, Wichita County, Texas
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has been notified that it is eligible for
$60,372.00 from the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program;
and,
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to authorize the City Manager to submit an
application to obtain any available funds from the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice
Assistance Grant Program; and,
WHEREAS, 10% of said award ($6,037.20) will be used for grant administration
expenses for the Wichita Falls Police Department, and the remainder ($54,334.80) will
be shared evenly with Wichita County, Texas, co-applicant for such grant; and,
WHEREAS, the use of these funds are planned to be used to assist in the
purchase of a tape backup system, computer server, surveillance equipment upgrade,
tactical rifle scopes, and training material.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute all documents necessary to
apply as a co-applicant to the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant
Program for funds in the amount of $60,372.00, as described above.
