CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Chairman Gills at approximately 5:30pm. II. ROLL CALL Members were asked to sign the attendance sheet. III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Minutes of the July 15, 2010 meeting was presented. Mr. Beavers made a motion, seconded by Mr. McElvain, to approve the minutes as presented. All were in favor. AVIATION ADVISORY BOARD September 9,2010 1 IV. REGULAR AGENDA 1. Municipal Airport • Staff report on Terminal Project: Ms. Morris (Weddle) reported that during a meeting with the FAA southwest region's Director of Airport Operations, it was clear that non hub terminals would be high on their priority list for funding next year. Furthermore, Wichita Falls Municipal Airport terminal building is on FAA's radar due to the age and condition of this facility. It was also communicated that "shovel ready" design plans are essential for consideration. The next step in this process is to develop those plans. • Staff report on Runway 17/35 Rehabilitation Project, Phase 1 — Ms. Morris reported that Phase I construction was moving along very nicely. The first test strips of asphalt will be laid within the next two weeks. There are no anticipated delays for this project to date. 2. Kickapoo Downtown Airport • Staff report on Fuel Farm/Apron Expansion and Rehab Project — Ms. Morris reported that the ALP updates have been approved, and Phase I of this project will go out for bid in November 2010. • Status of dirt/asphalt piles south of Kickapoo — Mrs. Johnson reported that she had begun coordination with other city departments to obtain the equipment and manpower needed to remove the debris. 3. Other Aviation Items • Ms. Morris introduced Mrs. Sarah Johnson as the new Airports Administrator. Mrs. Johnson mentioned she had recently separated from the USAF after nine years of service as an aircraft maintenance officer. She also discussed her background in general aviation and her excitement to work for the city of Wichita Falls and the Aviation Division. • Mr. Sid Gills made a special presentation to Ms. Morris for her farewell. Ms. Morris expressed her sincere gratitude to the board members and other guests for their dedication to the Aviation Advisory Board interests. V.
