Resolution Declaring City-Owned Properties To Be Excess Real
Property And Authorizing City Staff To Advertise, Obtain Sealed Bids,
And Execute All Documents Necessary To Sell These Properties
WHEREAS, the City owns excess property that staff has determined is no longer
needed for City operations and agrees the sale of these properties will allow a better
use of the properties, eliminate both a financial and maintenance burden to the City,
and place the properties back on the tax roll; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, deems it
reasonable and in the best public interest to sell the properties located at 1715
Giddings and 4927 State Highway 258 West.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
1. City Staff is authorized to advertise, obtain sealed bids, and execute all
documents necessary (including deeds and tax documentation) to sell the following
properties at sealed bid:
• 1715 Giddings, AKA the West 2/3 of Lot 10 and Lot 11, Block 2,
Campbell Addition
• 4927 State Highway 258 West, AKA 18.50 acres of Block 49, Kemp's
Wichita Valley Farm Lands
The City's intent is to sell these properties "as is" and "buyer beware" to the highest
bidder.
2. The City of Wichita Falls retains the right to refuse any and all bids for any or
all of the aforementioned properties if City Staff determines the bids are inadequate and
do not reflect a good representation of the property value.
