I. Call to Order and Introductions
Tom Lang called the meeting to order. Members, staff and guests introduced
themselves.
11. Approval of Minutes
Brian Hooker moved that the minutes of the September 8 meeting be approved with
corrections. Penny Miller seconded. The motion passed.
Ill. Presentation
Josh Jacobs gave a presentation about getting Midwestern State University students
and the institution more involved in the Lake Wichita project. He approached the
Student Government Association and some faculty members at MSU about potential
partnership and had some positive feedback. He asked the committee how it would like
to proceed.
The Student Government Association would like a formal presentation about the project
before the taking a vote on support. They would be helpful in increasing awareness
among the student body at minimum. It is possible they could get involved with
fundraising, canvassing, cleanup and helping to man booths at special events.

VI. Economic Study
Torn Lang reported on the results of the much - anticipated economic study from Dr.
Martinez at Midwestern State University. In summary, the annual local economic impact
would be $24.8M in tax revenue. This t00 -year project would pay for itself in 3 -- 5
years. We need to get the word out on this. It was suggested we need to discuss with
the City Manager the best way to do this.
VIE. Other Discussion
.lake VanDonge presented some ideas for events at the lake. The committee agreed
we should set dates for the spring to allow planning time.
Tina Henderson suggested we should have some criteria for presentations to the
committee so presenters know what to expect and the type of projects to be presented.
Jack Murphy indicated the chair approves presentations. Tina Henderson volunteered
to draft criteria and send her suggestion to Steve Garner for his consideration.
