Resolution Approving Sheppard Air Force Base Intervention Project,
Approving Wichita Falls Economic Development Corporation
Funding In The Amount Of Up To $30,000, Amending WFEDC Budget,
And Authorizing Intervention In The Competitive Renewable Energy
Zone Proceeding That Will Be Filed With The Texas Public Utilities
Commission Concerning The Location Of Electric Transmission
Lines In The Vicinity Of Said Base
WHEREAS, TExas Loca� Gov'r Co�E §501.073(a) provides "The corporation's
authorizing unit will approve all programs and expenditures of a corporation and
annually review any financial statements of the corporation"; and
WHEREAS, on or prior to this date, the Wichita Falls Economic Development
Corporation approved the project listed below as stated in its agenda.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
1. The Wichita Falls Economic Development Corporation's approval and funding
of the following programs and expenditures, as described above and in said
corporation's agenda, is approved:
Sheppard Air Force Base Intervention Project —which will provide for the
payment of up to $30,000 of "costs" (as defined by Texas Local
Government Code § 501.152) of expenditures required or suitable for the
development, retention, or expansion of Sheppard Air Force Base involving
preservation of airspace in the vicinity thereof by intervening in and
administering issues related to the competitive renewable energy zone
proceeding that will be filed with the Texas Public Utilities Commission
concerning the location of electric transmission lines in the vicinity of said
base
2. The current fiscal year budget of the Wichita Falls Economic Development
Corporation is amended in accordance with the aforementioned expenditure.
3. The City of Wichita Falls is authorized to intervene in the competitive
renewable energy zone proceeding that will be filed with the Texas Public Utilities
Commission concerning the location of electric transmission lines in the vicinity of
Sheppard Air Force Base.
