1. This department shall immediately assemble all existing ordinances
now enforceable, bearing on matters of public health and sanitation, into
one code to be 'mown as "The Sanitary Code for the Cite of rlichita ;Falls ,
Te z�:a.sT1 and all ordinances or amendments there-to 1-1-ereafter passed in the
interest of ,oublic health shall be in the form of additions to the code.
This department shall revise and have Printed from time to time sufficient
co~)ies of the sanitary code to permit such free distribution of the same
to t'ie -toublic as may be required.
�. The Health De-oartment shall be guided in its activities b77 city ordi-
nances comprising the sanitary code, and it shall -prepare appropriate
amendments to el--isting ordinances or nev ordinances from time to time to
meet new conditions. However, in case of enie-rgencies jeopardizing the -pub-

This de-partment through its proper representatives shall have the right of

SECTIGTi 4.
T. The general direction of the affair; of the Health De-oartment shall
be in charge of one member of the Board of lldermen designated by the

2. T'we executive officer of the Health Department shall be 1-Movai as
"Director of Health Department",sand shall be a person well informed in
sanitar�r science and he shall be further qualified by reason of having
had experience in the -administration of work partaining to public health.
He shall be appointed by, Llayor on approval of the Board of Yldermen, or by
the City Hanager if there be such. a1is salary shall be fixed b., the Board
of Idermen and he shall serve until removed for cause by that Board. He
shall be res-oonsible to t'ze Board of Aldermen, or the City Lianager if there
be such, for the -roper and efficient conduct of the affairs of this
department.
3. The Director of Health Department shall have immediate and direct
control of sanitary officers, food and dairy inspectors, city chemist and
employees of the city laboratory, or others emplo yea by the city in the
interest of public health and sanitation, excei)ting the City Health Officer
with whom he shall be connected simply in an advisory and cooperative
capacity. He shall. have the -oovier to appoint and discharge all employees
of the department over whom he exercises direct and immediate control, and

the passage of this ordinance, become offices or positions within the
