AN ORDIlUiNCE TO &'&END SECTION NO. 11 OF ORDINANCE
NO. 340 ENTITLED " AN ORDINANCE CREATING THE EXAIi'iINING AND
SUPERVISIivG BOARD OF PLUIMERS, DESIGNATING THE MEMBERS THEREOF,
AND PRESCRIBING THEIR POWER AIX DUTIES AND TERM OF OFFICE
PROVIDING FOR THE LICENSING OF PLUIBERS, AND THE GIVING OF IN-
DEMNITY BONDS BY PERSONS, FIRI43, OR CORPORATIONS, ENGAGED IN

SJ,',ERS, PROHIBITIIuG THE THROWING OF WASTES, GARBAGE, ETC .., INTO
THE' SEWER SYSTEM, AND THE INJURY OF T.THE, SYSTEM IN ANY MANNER,
AND PRESCRIBING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF ANY OF THE PROVI-
SIONS OF THIS ACT, AND REPEALING ALi, ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF
ORDIT1aANCES IN CO_2vFLICT WITH SAKE. AND CREATING THIS AN EIVERGENCY
MEASURE AND SUSPENDING THE RULES,"Passed on the loth day of
January 1921 and approved on the 17th day of January 1921 so as
to hereafter read as follows, to-wit:
Be it ordained by the Board of Aldermen of the City of
Wichita Fails, Texas :
Section 11 . The city shall lay all sewer pipe and make all taps
from the main sewer line to the property line of all persons de-
siring to connect with th c ' serer main and the applicant as
provided in the foregoin��^� �r ' the issuance to him of said
permit shall pay to the City Clerk the following fees : for each
tap laid by the city a fee of ten ($1e.00) dollars shall be paid,
and shall. give to the City Clerk at the time of said payment the
name of the owner of the property connecting with said sewer,
and the exact location of said property either by street number
or by lot and blook number. Also inspection fees as follows:
for the inspection of sewer line one ($1.00) dollar; for the
inspection of any one fixture one ( 1 .00) dollar; where there
are more fixtures than one the inspection fee shall be fifty
cents (0.50) for each additional fixture roughed in up to and
including ten (10) ; twenty-five cents (0.25) for each additional
fixture over and above ten (10) ; a fee of one ($1.00 ) dollar
shall be charged for outside closets .
The term fixture used in this Ordinance shall include
the following: water closets, catch basins; sand traps; slop
sinks, bath tubs, sitz tubs, kitchen sinks; urinals, wash-trays,
wash-basins, pantry sinks, drinking fountains, showers' WRte.r
heaters, hopper closets', floor dratLns; bell traps, laundry tubs,
refrigerators, cuspidors, grease traps, each section of section-
al fixtures and other part of plumbing connected with water or
surer system. Should the City Plumbing Inspector, his assistants
or a,*ents fail to .approve said work at the first inspection, a
similar charge shall be made for each additional inspection of
plumbing to sewer.
No permit shall be issued to any plumber Who shall
intentionally violate any of the provisions of this ordinance;
and provided further that no plumbing work shall be approved
by the Plumbing Inspector unless it is installed and constructed
by a legally licensed Journeyman plumber; and provided further
that it shall be unlawful for the Plumbing Inspector or any
person to connect up any plumbing work with the city sewer main,
which was not installed or constructed by a legally licensed
journeyman plumber and providdd further the cityshall have full
authority to disconnect and cut off the sewer line of any property
owner, or person occupying said property, from the city serer main,
for a violation of any of the providions of this ordinance .
