ORDINANCE 349 ENTITLED, "ORD IITANCE REGULATING THE CONSTRUCTION AND
LIAINTE NANCE OF SIGPTS OVER THE STREETS, SIDE'dIAL%S, AND ALLEYS OF THE

illuminated by reflecting lights shall conform to the requirements fr

method of suspension as hereinafter specified.
SECTION 3, PARAGRAPH (f)
In addition to the brackets, there must be at least one
supporting cable attached to the suspended end of the sign, in the same
vertical plane of the sign, and malting an angle of approximately 45 de-
grees with the vertical axis through the end attached to the sign. There
must also be at least rwo diagonal cables attached to the suspended end
of the sign.
Each diagonal_ cable shall be at least is times the lengtly of
the sign. These diagonal cables shall be attached to the wall at points
which are approximately the same distance above and out from the sign.
If the sign is greater than 2 feet in depth there must be at least two
additional cables for lateral bracing, not smaller than i- inch in diam-
eter. If considered necessary for depths less than two feet the lateral
bracing shall be used. In cases where the above described method of sus- - -,
pension is not practical the City Engineer may grant special permission
to erect suns in a safe and substantial manner which will meet with his
approval,
