AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE KEEPING OF DOGS IN THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, AND PROVIDING A PENALTY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF
FALLS, TEXAS:
SECTION I.
ALDERIITEN OF THE CITY . OF 'td I CH IT A
That it shall hereafter be un&wful for the owner or harborer
or any person having custody or control of any dog, either male
or female, to suffer or permit the same to run loose or a1& large
upon the streets, alleys or other public places in the city of
Wichita Falls, Texas, unless the mouth of such animal is muzzled
in such a manner as -to prttect persons from being bitten by such
anfmal.
SECTION II.
That the provisions of this ordinance shall not apply to
dogs which are not over six months of age nor to dogs which
are being led upon the streets or other public places in the city
and which are secured by means of a suitable c1llar or leash.
SECTION III.
That it shall be the duty of the Chief of Police or any police
officer to cause to be taken up or impounded any dog found loose
or at large upon the streets or other public places of this city
in violation of the terms of this ordinance.
SECTION IV.
That any person or persons violating the provisions of this
ordinance shall upon conviction, be fined in any sum not to exceed
0200.00 dollars.
SECTION V.
That the absence of any Ordinance governing the keeping of
dogs in the City of Wichita .Falls constitutes an urgent public
necessita-demanding the sus ension of the rules requiring the
reading of ordinances on T three separate days, and the read-
ing of this ordinance on (3) three separate days is hereby by the
unanimous vote of all the members of the Board, dispensed wita,
and this ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage.
