SECTION 1V. EXAMINING BOARD; LICENSE FEES;
INSPECTION FEES; PERMIT FEES:
1. Board of Examiners Created; and Their Duties
Defined: That a Board of Electrical Workers Examiners be
and the the same is hereby created for the City of Wichita
malls, Texas to be known as the "Electrical Workers Examining
Board, " which 0611 consist of three members, one member of
which shall be an Electrical Contractor and' one member shall be
an Electric Light Co. Man, and the Electric Inspector shall
constitute the other member of said Board or more at the
discretion of the Mayor. All members of said Board shall be
residents of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas and shall be
appointed by the Mayor and shall receive one dollar for their
services each day served. It is the duty of the Electrical
rYorkers Examining Board to examine contractors as to their
ability and qualifications to do Electrical Mork in the City
of Wichita Falls, Texas and if found to be competent 66
issue said applicant a certificate stating that applicant is
qualified to do Electrical Work in the City of Wichita Falls,
Texas . Provided that asaid Board may promulgate its own
rulings governing its meetings and proceedings before it.
2. All persons, firms, individuals, co-partnerships
or corporations (excepting companies operating under franchise)
desiring to engage in the business of installing wires,
appliances, apparatus, fixtures, or electric signs, shall,
before doing any Or such work, take out license and make a
bond acceptable to the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, and pass
examination by Examining Board. The license shall be 'wrie•--
,may by the City Clerk and the fee therefor shall
be V100.00, per annum, payable in advance. Mice

Said license shall be renewed at $25.00, from year to year as it
expires, and may be revoked at any time Ty the order of the
Mayor and City Coundil for the violation of any of the pro-
visions of this Ordinance, and the offending persons or firms
or corporations shall be prohibited from engaging in such work
in the corporate limits of this city for one year.
3. the application for a_ license before same is
issued, shall be made to City Electrician, and he shall
counter-sign the same before license is issued by City Clerk,
and in no case a license be issued to a minor.
4. Unlawful to transfer License: ! t shall be
unlawful for any person, firm or corporation holding a
license to transfer same of to allow the use of same directly
or indirectly by any other person, for the purpose of obtain-
ing a permit to do any of the electrical we* herein
specified.
5. Licenses which are allowed to lapse shall, upon

renewal, be dated back to expiration .. d of old license,
not to exceed thirty days.
6. All licensed electrical contractors, firms or
corporations shall file with City Electrician their correct
address and telephone number, and any change in address
should be immediately filed with the City Electrician.
7. Where the holder of a license changes the firm
name or where additional members are taken into firms or where
a firm is incorporated, a notice of shch change should be
forwarded to City Electrician, otherwise, license is liable
to be revoked because of its questionable ownership.
8. Surety Bonds shall be furnished to the amount of
1000,00, and shall be renewed each year, to insure faithful
performance of all the provisions of this ordinance.
9. Inspection Fees: The fees to be charged for
inspections of any electrical work in the corporate limit
of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas shall be as follows," „a"

(a) For the first seven openings roughed in

than the original contractors, drop lights or switches or
hot plugs either on concealed or open work shall be ten cents

All fees for the roughing in of all concealed or
open wiring shall be paid before first inspection is made
and must be paid by Electrical Contractor doing the work.
All fees for hanging fixtures or drops or switches
must be paid by Electrical Contractor doing the work.
(b) Fees for the hanging of ceiling fans shall be
vi.00, for the first three and for more than three, 15 cents
each and must be paid by electrical contractor doing the work
each time fan is hung, either new or where repaired or cleaned,
if removed from ceiling.
(a) Motors shall be $1.00, each up to and including
1 horse power. 42.00, for all motors from one to five
horse power, and all over five horse power shall be computed
aVten cents per horse power for

(d) Generators shall be 50 cents per Kill+ !owatt up

control apparatus. Minimum inspection $1.00. Mojror
generator considered as motor only up to 10 K.W. ,
more than 10 K.W. inspection fees apply to Generators too.
(e) Signs: Fees for the inspection of signs
shall be $1.00, for each illuminated sign ( excdpting that
roughed inside balls shall not be classed as signs) . In
addition to the $1.00, fee for signs $1.00, shall be paid
for motor driven flashers.
(f) For inspection of apparatus for which no fee
is prescribed, or otherwise provided, a charge of 41 )60,
per hour for the time required to do the work.
(g) That whenever any work is inspected and found
defective and a second inspection is necessary a charge of
$1.00, will be made, to be paid by Electrical Contractor
doing the work.
Where an addition or extention is made to any
electric installation or any change is made therein, that
was not covered by original permit, then a permit must be
obtained for such change or extention.
SECTION V. DUTIES OF INSPECTORS.
1. Upon the completion and receipt of final
inspection papers covering work upon which a permit has been
issued, the Electrical Inspector's Department shall make
final inspection and if found to comply with this Ordinance
a certificate of inspection shall be issued stating that the
work has been done according to the provisions of this
Ordinance and the rules governing the respective class to
which it belongs.
2. Whenever an addition is made to lii work which
does not conform to the rules as prescribed in th#d Ordinance,
the Electrical Inspector shall issue a statement that the
new work complies with the rules but that a clearance canU
be issued because of the old work not being in a safe con ion.

7. All conduits must be secured to boxes,
junction boxes or cabinets by placing approved lock nuts on
outside of box and lock nuts and bushings inside of boxes.
8. All bath room, kitchen, basement and private
garage emxMM5ieg lights must be ceiling fixtures and controlled
by wall switches., All kitchen, bath room, basements and
private garage bracket fixtures, must be of non-conducting
material and be controlled by wall switches or use grounded
fixtures at direction of Inspector. This section does not
include living rooms over or in private garages, excepting
that rules applying to bath rooms and kitchens shall apply.
9. All installations of more than four circuits must
have three wire service where possible and residence type
panel board, and all installations of eleven circuits or
more rust have standard approved panel board enclosed in
standard approved steel cabinets. 1Qo service wires smaller than
#10 B & S Gauge will be allowed. All service wires must be
installed in conduit or metal moulding from entrance into
cabinet, and also from cabinet to first light opening. Where
it is necessary to install sub-feeders from main cabinet to
distributing panels only one pai sub-feeders will be permitted
in any one pipe. Exit lights will be required in all apartments,
and hotel buildings more than two stories high, and must be
connected to house meter.
