ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS,
TEXAS, AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES AT APPENDIX B,
ZONING ORDINANCE, SECTION 3040 AND SECTION 3100, PLACING
LIMITED AND COMMERCIAL DAY CARE CENTERS AS CONDITIONAL
USES WITHIN SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL ZONING DISTRICTS;
FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS
ORDINANCE WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED
BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission has reviewed and recommended
approval of the amendment to allow Commercial Day Care Centers in the SF -1 zoning
district as a conditional use and add "(non- residential building)" to the text in SF -1 and SF -2;
and
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission has reviewed and recommended
approval of the amendment to allow Limited Commercial Day Care Centers within the Sf -1
zoning district as a conditional use; and
WHEREAS, the City Council concurs with the recommendation of the Planning and
Zoning Commission.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Section 3100, SF -2 Single Family Residential District (Standard Lot),
Subchapter 3130, Conditional Uses, under Civic Uses, shall be amended as follows:
Day Care Centers, Commercial (non - residential building)
SECTION 2. Section 3040 SF -1 Single Family Residential District (Large Lot),
Subsection 3070 Conditional Uses, under Civic Uses. Shall be amended by adding the
following:
- Day Care Centers, Commercial (non - residential building)
Day Care Centers, Limited (not conducted as a home occupation)
SECTION 3. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at which
this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
