ORDINANCE MAKING AN APPROPRIATION IN THE HOLT HOTEL
PROJECT IN THE AMOUNT OF $30,000 AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO EXECUTE A GRANT CONTRACT WITH THE TEXAS
HISTORICAL COMMISSION; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE
MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO
THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the project proposed by the Holt Restoration Corporation is the
restoration and renovation of residential units on the upper floors and commercial
space on the ground floor; and
WHEREAS, this project will provide an improvement to the downtown area,
encourage additional investment in the reinvestment zone and place the property back
on the tax roll at a substantial increase.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to execute contract documents
with the Texas Historical Commission for a special project grant of $30,000.00 and such
funds are appropriated to assist the Holt rehabilitation effort.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
