ORDINANCE DESIGNATING THE STRUCTURE AT 1000 LAMAR
STREET AS A WICHITA FALLS LANDMARK; FINDING AND
DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE
WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the Landmark Commission of the City of Wichita Falls has
recommended that the structure located at 1000 Lamar Street, Wichita Falls, Texas, be
designated as a local landmark; and
WHEREAS, the Landmark Commission has deemed that this property is
especially worthy of protection, preservation, and recognition
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Section 2- 160.7.7, Code of Ordinances, Wichita Falls, Texas, is
hereby amended to include the following:
"(23) The building located at 1000 Lamar Street, Wichita Falls, Texas, further
known as Lots 1 thru 5, Block 192, Original Townsite, and commonly known as the
United States Post Office, is hereby designated as a Wichita Falls Landmark."
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
