Ord 020-2000 3/7/2000ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, AMENDING ARTICLE II, SECTION 7 -15 OF THE CODE
OF ORDINANCES TO PROVIDE CERTAIN REGULATIONS FOR THE
LICENSING AND BONDING OF CONTRACTORS; FINDING AND
DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE
WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the performance of building activities directly affects the health and
safety of the citizens of Wichita Falls; and
WHEREAS, the licensing and regulation of building contractors will further
promote the health and safety of the citizens of Wichita Falls.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Article II, Section 104.5.2, Definitions, of the Wichita Falls Code of
Ordinances is hereby amended, in part, to read as follows:
Section 104.5.2 Bond and Insurance Requirements.
Definitions:
1.) Contractor: any person or entity who undertakes to, attempts to, or submits
a price or bid or offers to construct, supervise, superintend, oversee,
schedule, direct, or in any manner assume charge of the construction,
alteration, repair, improvement, movement, demolition, putting up, tearing
down, or furnishing labor to install material or equipment for any building,
highway, road, railroad, sewer, grading, excavation, pipeline, public utility,
structure, project development, housing, housing development,
improvement, or any other construction undertaking. "Contractor" includes,
but is not limited, to prime contractor, electrical contractor, construction
manager of any kind whatsoever, including but not limited, to residential
construction manager, construction consultant, architect, and /or engineer
who conduct or provide any activity or service described herein other than
normal architectural or engineering services.
2.) Residential /Light Commercial Contractor: Contractor authorized to do
residential home building, remodeling and commercial construction of wood
or cold formed steel framing, (to include interior completion of existing
commercial structures, not involving structural components, not to exceed
one (1) story in height, nor 10,000 square feet.)
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
