ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING A FRANCHISE FOR SPECIAL SERVICE
VEHICLES FOR MEDICAL RELATED TRANSPORT TO TRANS STAR,
INC., DBA STAR TRANSPORTATION; FINDING AND DETERMINING
THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE WAS PASSED
WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the City has received an application from Trans Star, Inc., to operate
a special service vehicles franchise within the city limits of Wichita Falls; and
WHEREAS, the application submitted meets the requirements as set forth in
Chapter 31 of the Code of Ordinances regulating Vehicles for Hire; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held to receive comments regarding the
granting of such franchise.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. A franchise for special service vehicles is hereby authorized to
Trans Star, Inc., dba Star Transportation as provided for in Chapter 31 of the Code of
Ordinances.
SECTION 2. A total of one (1) special service vehicle permit is authorized for
said franchise for medically related transports of persons to and /or from medical
facilities who are unable to use normal taxicab services.
SECTION 3. This franchise shall expire on April 21, 2005.
SECTION 3. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
