ORDINANCE REZONING LOT 6 AND THE WEST 50.7 FEET OF LOT 5,
BLOCK 1, PARK PLACE SUBDIVISION, ALSO KNOWN AS 1913 AND
1911 MIDWESTERN PARKWAY FROM SINGLE FAMILY -2 TO
MULTIFAMILY RESIDENTIAL ZONING, AND AMENDING THE
COMPREHENSIVE LAND USE PLAN; FINDING AND DETERMINING
THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE WAS PASSED
WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission recommended rezoning Lot 6
and the west 50.7 feet of Lot 5, Block 1, Park Place Subdivision, also known as 1913
and 1911 Midwestern Parkway from Single Family -2 to Multifamily Residential zoning;
and
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission acknowledged that conditions
in the proposed area have changed and recommended amending the Comprehensive
Land Use Plan, an element of the Comprehensive Plan, to conform to this rezoning;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, deems that the
proposed rezoning of the area hereafter described, and amending the Comprehensive
Plan to reflect this change, will be in the public interest.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The Land Use Plan, an element of the Comprehensive Plan for the
City of Wichita Falls, Texas is hereby amended for Lot 6 and the west 50.7 feet of Lot 5,
Block 1, Park Place Subdivision, also known as 1913 and 1911 Midwestern Parkway.
Said property is shown on the attached map, incorporated in this ordinance as
Attachment "A." Said property land use designation shall be changed from Low - Density
Residential to High- Density Residential.
SECTION 2. The property described as Lot 6 and the west 50.7 feet of Lot 5,
Block 1, Park Place Subdivision, also known as 1913 and 1911 Midwestern Parkway is
hereby rezoned from Single Family -2 Residential to Multifamily Residential Zoning.
SECTION 3. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
