ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $15,000 FROM THE TEXAS PARKS &
WILDLIFE DEPARTMENT FOR A KID FISH GRANT AND AUTHORIZING
THE USE OF $6,660 OF GENERAL CITY FUNDS FOR THE CITY'S
MATCHING REQUIREMENT; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE
MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO
THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the City has received a Kid Fish grant from the Texas Parks &
Wildlife Department in the amount of $15,000 for construction of a 300 foot long
concrete edging and walk on the south shore of Plum Lake; and
WHEREAS, the project is a matching grant similar to the recently completed Kid
Fish grant project on the north shore of Plum lake; and
WHEREAS, the City is required to furnish a 25% match of the total project
budget of $20,000 and the project bid cost over run of $1,660.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The $15,000 Kid Fish grant from Texas Parks & Wildlife
Department is hereby appropriated for the construction of a concrete edging and walk
along a portion of Plum Lake and authorization is granted to expend $6,660 of General
City funds as the City's matching share.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
