ORDINANCE REFUNDING TAXES PAID BY SIGNATURE SERVICES
CORPORATION IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $4,481.21 FOR THE TAX
YEARS 1995, 1996, AND 1997 AS DIRECTED BY AN AGREED
JUDGMENT OF THE 30T" DISTRICT COURT; FINDING AND
DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE
WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the City has been notified by the Wichita County Appraisal District
and the Wichita County Tax Assessor /Collector that a settlement has been reached in
litigation involving the property tax payments rendered to the City by Signature Services
Corporation for the tax years 1995, 1996 and 1997; and
WHEREAS, that court settlement resulted in the need to refund $4,481.21 in tax
payments to Signature Services Corporation due to an over - appraisal of the property in
question; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary for the City Council to approve such tax refunds.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. A tax refund in the amount of $4,481.21 is hereby approved on
Wichita County Appraisal District Account # 5900 - 001 -9061, Cause Number 146,817 -A
and 146,818 -C.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
