ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $566,000 IN AIRPORT EQUITY FUNDS
TO BE USED IN CONJUNCTION WITH FEDERAL AVIATION
ADMINISTRATION AIRPORT IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM FUNDS FOR
THE PURCHASE OF KICKAPOO DOWNTOWN AIRPARK AND
RELATED STUDIES; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE
MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO
THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, on April 18, 2000, the City Council authorized the City Manager to
execute a grant agreement with the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration in the amount
of $1,322,416 for the acquisition of Kickapoo Downtown Airpark and related studies;
and
WHEREAS, on May 16, 2000, the City Council authorized the City Manager to
execute a purchase agreement for the purchase of the airpark not to exceed
$1,600,000; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council to utilize available cash balances
in the Municipal Airport Enterprise Fund in conjunction with the Federal Aviation
Administration Entitlement Funds for the purchase of the airpark and related studies.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated to the City's budget $566,000 in
equity funds from the Airport Enterprise Fund to be used with federal grant funds for the
purchase of the Kickapoo Downtown Airpark and related studies.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
