Ord 068-2000 6/20/2000ORDINANCE NO. CA-0,000 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, ACCEPTING THE PROPOSALS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE MPEC COLISEUM PROJECT; AS RECOMMENDED BY THE MPEC BOARD, IN THE AMOUNT OF $19,683,198; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SIGN ALL APPROPRIATE CONTRACTS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE MPEC COLISEUM, CONDITIONED UPON RECEIPT OF $7,000,000 OF CERTIFICATES OF OBLIGATION REVENUE TO PARTIALLY FUND SAID PROJECT; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW. WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has received proposals to build the Coliseum component of the MPEC project, at a total project amount of $19,683,198; and, WHEREAS, the City Council finds that said proposals should be accepted and that said Coliseum should be constructed, conditioned upon receipt of $7,000,000 of certificates of obligation revenue to partially fund the construction of the MPEC Coliseum. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1. The City of Wichita Falls hereby accepts the proposals to build the MPEC Coliseum, as recommended by the MPEC Board, in the amount of $19,683,198; and authorizes the City Manager to sign all appropriate contracts to accomplish same, conditioned upon the City issuing and receiving $7,000,000 of certificates of obligation revenue to partially fund the construction of the Coliseum project and that other City funds be successfully transferred with private monies to fund the balance of the project costs. SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
