ORDINANCE REZONING 1201 SIXTH STREET (A.K.A. 600 & 602
BURNETT) AND 604 -612 (EVEN NUMBERS) BURNETT STREET, LOTS
1 -7, BLOCK 146, ORIGINAL TOWNSITE, FROM RIVER DEVELOPMENT
DISTRICT TO GENERAL COMMERCIAL ZONING; FINDING AND
DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE
WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission recommended rezoning 1201
Sixth Street (A.K.A. 600 & 602 Burnett) and 604 -612 (even numbers) Burnett Street,
Lots 1 -7, Block 146, Original Townsite, from River Development District to General
Commercial zoning; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, deems that the
proposed rezoning of the area hereafter described is in accordance with the
Comprehensive Land Use Plan and in the public interest.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The property described as 1201 Sixth Street (A.K.A. 600 & 602
Burnett) and 604 -612 (even numbers) Burnett Street, Lots 1 -7, Block 146, Original
Townsite, Wichita Falls, Texas, is hereby rezoned from River Development District to
General Commercial zoning. Said property is shown as the shaded area on the
attached map, incorporated in this ordinance as Attachment "A."
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
