AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND A7A1TDOPTI1'\'41G THAT PORTION
OF ChEESTER AVENUE LYING BETWEEN BLUFF AVE !UE AND 19TH
STREET, IN THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEMS.. and AUTHORIZIiVG
THE ';IAY OR TO SELL SAME.
WHEREAS, the hereinafter mentioned portion of
Chester Avenue is not being used by the public and same
is not necessary as a street for the use of the public,
and
''°HEREAS, the owners of the land adjacent to and
abutting on said street are desirous that said street be
vacated and closed by the City, and
'aHEREAS, the City after malting investigation of
the closing of said street, deems it for the best inter—
est of all concerned that said street be closed, and that
the rights of the public will not be effected by such
closing.
1,1017, TT-iEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOA'JD OF
ALDEMIEN OF THE CITY OF 17ICH ITA '_-FALLS, TEXAS:
SECTION 1: That that portion o_' Chester Avenue
lying between Bluff Avenue and 19th Street and the South
line of the ri�-7nt of way of the ""ichita Valley Railway,
such portion of Chester Street being described by metes
and bounds as follows:
'BEGINNING at the point where Bluff Street
inters6cts said Chester ;venue at a point
15 feet Northeast of the intersection of
Sibley Avenue with said Bluff Avenue; THENCE
Northeast along Bluff Avenue\40 feet; THENCE
in a Northeasterly direction along said Ches—
ter Avenue 150.6 feet; THENCE East along the
line of 19th Street 73 feet; THENCE in a
Westerly direction along the line of Wichita
Valley Railroad right of way 215.0 feet to
the South line of said Chester Avenue; THENCE
along Chester Avenue 332.6 feet to the place
of beginning, containing 12,219 square feet of
land'
be, and the same is hereby closed.
SECTIO 2: That the mayor be, and hey hereby
authorized to sell said portion of Chester Avenue for
the highest and best bid obtainable, and to execute proper
instrument conveying all of the right, title and inter-
est of the City of Wichita Palls in and to said portion
of Chester Avenue to said purchaser.
