ORDINANCE MAKING AN APPROPRIATION IN THE HOTEL /MOTEL
TAX FUND INN THE AMOUNT OF $64,000 FOR EXPENSES
ASSOCIATED WITH THE 2000 SUMMER TRAINING CAMP FOR THE
DALLAS COWBOYS; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE
MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO
THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the City has received a request for Hotel /Motel funds in the amount
of $64,000 from Midwestern State University for expenses associated with the 2000
summer training camp of the Dallas Cowboys; and
WHEREAS, Hotel /Motel Occupancy Tax Funds are to be used only for activities
that generate tourism; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that these expenditures are related to the
promotion of tourism in the city, and
WHEREAS, the Convention and Visitor's Bureau will serve as the administrative
agency to review costs submitted by Midwestern State University.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Funds in the amount of $64,000 are hereby appropriated in the
Hotel /Motel Tax Fund for expenses associated with the promotion of tourism at the
2000 summer training camp of the Dallas Cowboys.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
