ORDINANCE REFUNDING TAXES PAID BY J.C. PENNEY COMPANY,
INC., IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $7,233.14 FOR THE TAX YEARS
1992, 1993, 1994, AND 1995 AS DIRECTED BY A SUMMARY
JUDGMENT OF THE 78TH DISTRICT COURT; FINDING AND
DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE
WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has been notified by the Wichita County
Appraisal District and the Wichita County Tax Assessor /Collector that the 78th District
Court has ordered a property tax refund in the amount of $7,233.14 be made to J.C.
Penney Company, Incorporated, for the tax years 1992, 1993, 1994, and 1995; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary for the City Council to approve such tax refunds.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. A tax refund in the amount of $7,233.14 is hereby approved on
Wichita County Appraisal District Account # 5900 - 000 -2379, Cause Number 139,882 -B.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
