An Ordinance closing and abandoning that
portion of Eleventh Street adjacent to and separating Blocks
196 and 197 of the Original Townsite of the City of Wichita
Falls, Texas, and. West of Michigan Avenue of said Townsite,
said portion of Eleventh Street being hereinafter more
particularly described.
WHEREAS , the owners of the land adacent to
and abutting Eleventh Street desire said Street be abandoned
and closed by the City; and,
WHEREAS , the Board of Alderman, after making
an investigation of the cl os ing of said portion of said
Eleventh Street , deem it for the best interest of all con-
cerned th4t said portion of said street be closed and abandoned,
and that the right of the public will not be effected.
NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF
ALDERMAN OR COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS , TEXAS:
Section 1. That that portion of Eleventh
Street hereinafter described be and the same is hereby closed
and abandoned, said portion of Eleventh Street desired to be
closed and abandoned being described by metes and bounds, as
follows, to-wit:
BEGINNING at a point in the North Line
of Eleventh Street, said point being 175 feet
measured Easterly from the Southwest corner of
Block 196 and the Northeast corner of the inter-
section of Eleventh Street with Ohio Avenue , said
point being the Southwest corner of Lot 5, Block
196; Thence Easterly with the South line of Block
196, a distance of 150 feet to the Southwest
corner of Block 196; Thence Southerly with the
West line of Michigan Avenue , a distance of 80 feet
to the Northeast corner of Block 197; Thence
Westerly 4*the North line of Block 197, a distance
of 150 feet to the Northwest corner of Lot 1,
Block 197; Thence Northerly with the East line of
the alley of Blocks 196 and 197, a distance of 80
feet to the place or point of beginning.

This Ordinance is passed at the request of the
Wichita Falls & Southern Railroad Company for the purpose of
enlarging and maintaining their industry tracks , and the Wichita
Falls & Southern Railroad Company by acceptance of the provi-
sions herein, shall become obligated to protect the City of
Wichita Falls , Texas, and save and hold it harmless from all
damages, claims , judgments and court costs for which the said
City may be liable to property owners growing out of the closing
and abandoning the Street specified in said Ordinance , and it
is so ordered.
That the said City of Wichita Falls , Texas ,
hereby retains easements in arA across said land and through
said port ion of Eleventh Street for the purpose of laying and
running all character of public utility lines, including water,
light, gas, electric , telephone, telegraph and power lines.
