AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING THE ALLEY IN
BLOCK NUMBER 192 OF THE ORIGINAL TOWN OF WICHITA FALLS ,
WICHITA COUNTY, TEXAS, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO CONVEY
TO THE UNITED STATES OF AME'RICA ALL THE RIGHT, TITLE AND
INTEREST OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS IN AND TO SAID ALLEY;
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY:
WhIREAS, the Governments or ttie United States of
merica has acquired title to lots one (1 ), two (2) , three
(3 ) , four (4) and five (5 ) , i:L Block One Hundred Ninety—two
( 192 ), of the Original Town of Wichita Falls, Wichita County,
Texas, to be used as a cl-Ge for a Post Office and Federal
Building; and, whereas, it is the desire of the Government
and the owners of the other one-halt of said Block 192, that
the allay in said block be closed and abandoned and all right ,
title and interest of the city therein conveyed. to the United
States of America.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF
ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS , TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That the alley in Block 192 of the Original Town of
Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas, be, and the same is
hereby closed and abandoned.
SECTION 2.
That the said City of Wichita Falls, Texas, hereby
retains easements in and across said land and along the said
alley for the purpose of laying and running all character of
Public utility lines, including sewer, water, gas, electricity,
telephone, telegraph and power lines.
SECTION 3.
Tnat the Mayor of the City of Wichita Falls, be, and
he is hereby authorized to execute to the United States of
America a quitclaim deed conveying to the United States of
America all the right, title and interest of the Citiy of
Wichita Falls, Texas, in and to the above described alley,
reserving easements for public utilities as provided in
Section 2 hereof.
SECTION 4.
The fact that the United States Government is
anxious to begin work upon tole Federal Building cite as soon
as possible creates an emergency and the rule requiring the
reading of ordinances on tnree separate days is hereby sus-
pended and this ordinance shF+ l take effect immediately
upon its passage and approval.
