AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 4 AND REPEALING SECTION 5 OF
ORDINANCE NO. 511, PASSED AND APPROVED ON THE 19TH DAY OF MAY,
A.D. 19249 ENTITLED, "AN ORDINANCE TO REGULATE THE CONSTRUCTION,
ALTERATION, MAINTENANCE, REPAIR AND REMOVAL OF BUILDINGS WITHIN
THE CITY OF WIC:HITA FALLS, TEXAS, AND PRESCRIBING PENALTIES FOR
VIOLATIONS," SO AS TO REQUIRE PERMITS TO BE PROCURED FOR ALL
CONSTRUCTION, ALTERATION OR REPAIR yORK ON STRUCTURES WITHIN THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS AND PRESCRIBING FEES FOR SUCH PERMITS;
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF
4ICHITA FALLS, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
Section 4 of Ordinance No. 511, passed and approved on the
19th day of May, 1924, be, and the came is hereby amended so as
to hereafter read as follows, to-wit:
SECTION 4.
"Before the erection, construction, alteration or repair
of any building, structure or wall or any part thereof or of
any platform, staging or flooring to be used for standing or
sitting purposes is commenced, the owner or lessee or agent of
either or the architect or builder employed by such owner or
lessee in connection with the proposed erection, construction,
alteration or repair shall apply to the City Clerk for a permit
to do such work. The application for such p.-rmit shall be made
on a blank form furnished by the building inspector and shall
state the exact site to be occupied, the materials to be used,
the demensions and estimated cost of the proposed building,
structure, alteration, repair or work and the probable time to
be occupied during its erection. Full and compl6te copies of
the plans and specifications in duplicate of such proposed work
and such structural detailed drawings of such proposed work as
the building inspector may require, shall be filed for all build-
ings or structures.
One set of plans and specifications shall be kept in
the office of the building inspector and the other set, properly
stamped by the building inspector, shall be kept at the building
or structure in course of erection or alteration. After being
approved, the plans and specifications covered by this Ordinance
shall not be altered in any respect without the approval of the
building inspector and the works shall be carried on in accord-
ance therewith.
Nothing in this section shall be construed to prevent
the building inspector from granting his approval for theerection
of any part of a building, or any part of a structure, where plans
and detailed statements have been presented for the same before
the entire plans and detailed statements for said building or
structure has been submitted.
Any permit which may be issued by the City Clerk, pur-
,3uant to the provisions of this section, but under which no work
is commenced within six (6) months fro-:i the time of issuance,
shall expire by limitation.

ures shall be as follows :

SECTION 2.
That Section 5 of said Ordinance No. 511, passed and ap-
proved by the Board of Aldermen on the 19th day of May, 1924,
be, and the same is hereby repealed.
SECTION 3.
The fact that the present Ordinance does not require
permits for certain construction, alteration and repairs of
structures, creates an emergency; and the rule requiring the
reading of ordinances on three several days is hereby suspend-
ed; and this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its
passage and approval.
