AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING ="HAT PORTION OF
VALLEY DRIVE LYING SOUTH OF FIFTH STREET BETWEEN BLOCK
A AND BLOCK; B AND C AND NORTH OF BLOCK D IN THE EAST
SUNSET HEIGHTS ADDITION AND THAT PORTION OF HARRISON
STREET LYING NORTH OF THE SOUTH LINE OF EAST SUNSET HEIGHTS
ADDITION UM SOUTH OF BLOCK B IN EAST SUNSET HEIGHTS ADDI-
TION, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
Whereas, the School Board of Wichita Falls Independent
School District has acquired all of the East Sunset Heights
Addition to the City of Wichita Falls to be used as an ath-
letic field and stadium and desires to close the hereinafter
mentioned streets so as to use said property. for said pur-
pose; and whereas, by the closing of said streets which have
been dedicated but never opened, citizens will not be in-
convenienced.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDER-
10N OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That the portion of Valley Drive lying south of Fifth,
Street and between BlocksA and Blocks B and C and north of
Block D. of the East Sunset Heights Addition and that portion
of Harrison.Street lying north of the south line of East
Sunset Heights Addition and south of Block B of East Sunset
Heights Addition to the City of Wichita Falls, Wichita Coun-
ty, Texas, be, and the same is hereby closed and abandoned.
SECTION 2.
That the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, hereby retains
easements in and across said land and across said streets
for the purpose of laying and constructing all public util-
ity lines including sewer, water, gas, electricity, tele-
phone, telegraph and power lines.
SECTION 3.
The fact that it is intended to immediately begin
improvements and the construction of an athletic field and
stadiurn which covers portions of the above named streets,
creates an emergency; and the role requiring the reading
of ordinances on three separa'Ue days is hereby suspended
and this Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its
passage and approval.

Addition.
These are streets crossing the tract recently acquired for
an athletic field .
