AN 010INANC E AhENDING SECTION 13 OF ORDIIANCE NO. 511,
PASSED AND APPROVED ON THE 19TH DAY OF MAY, A. D. 19241, SO
AS TO PROHIBIT THE ERECTION OF ALL LIETAL BUILDINGS WITHIN THE
FIRE LINTS, AND DECLARING AN EIERGENCY:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF AI:JERI,1EN OF TIM CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That Section 13 of Ordinance No. 511, passed and approved
on the 19th day of May, A.D. 1924, entitled "An ordinance to
regulate the construction, alteration, maintenance, repair and
renewal of buildings within the City of Wichita Falls, Texas,
and prescribing penalties for violations," be and the same is
hereby amended so as to hereafter read as follows :
"Section Thirteen: Every building hereinafter erected or
altered within the fire limits shall be inclosed on all sides
with walls constructed wholly of stone, brick, Portland cement
concrete, or if approved by the building inspector, other equiv-
alent hard incombustible materials , except that buildings cov-
ered by the following sections of this chapter may be permitted,
if in the judgment of the building inspector the public safety
is not endangered thereby. In no event shall an all metal build-
ing be erected in the fire limits. "
SECTION 2.
The fact that the rules and regulations of the Texas Fire
Insurance Department prohibits the erection of all metal build-
ings within fire limits and that Ordinance 511 conflicts with
said rules and regulations creates an emergency; and the rule
requiring the reading of ordinances on three several days is
hereby suspended and this ordinance shall take effect from and
after its passage and approval.
