AN ORDINANCE AYENDING SECTION 5 OF ORDINANCE NO. 538,
PASSED AND APPROVED ON THE 15 TH DAY OF SE PTEIMER, A. D. 19249
BY ADDING TO SAID SECTION PARAGRAPH 11 TO PROVIDE FOR PERI-
ODIC INSPECTIONS OF ALL PUBLIC AND KSRCt,,NTILE BUILDINGS, AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERr;ZEN OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That Section 5 of Ordinance No. 5389 passed and approved
on the 15th day of September, A.D. 1924, entitled "An ordinance
creating the office of the electrical inspector, regulating the
way and manner in which electrical wires and apparatus shall be
installed in the City of Uichita Falls, Texas, and providing
for the general inspection of such work; providing for the is-
suance of licenses and permits, providing for fees to be charg-
ed for doing such work; repealing ordinance Nos. 109 and 297
and all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith;
providing for penalties for violation of this ordinance," be and
the same is hereby amended. by adding to said Section paragraph
119 to read as follows:
"ll. The electrical inspector shall inspect and rein-
spect the wiring of ali public and mercantile buildings at least
twice each year and at not less then six month intervals and
shall notify in .riting the owner and occupant of such buildings
to repair such defects as may be found and any person, firm or
cor_ooration refusing or failing to make such repairs within forty-
eight (48) hours after notification, shall be subject to the
penalties prescribed by this ordinance. "
SECTION 2.
The fact that the present ordinances of the City of Wichita.
Falls do not provide for periodic inspection of the wiring in
public and mercantile buildings creates an emergency, and the rule
requiring the readings of ordinances on three several days is
hereby suspended and this ordinance shall take effect from and
after its passage and approval.
