ORDINANCE NO. 915
SECTION 1: It shall be unlawful for any person, firm
or corporation, or association of persons, to erect or suspend
on, across or above the sidewalks, streets or alleys, within
the corporate limits of the City of Wichita Falls as now, or
as may hereafter be defined, any kind or character of sign
which projects from the building line for a distance greater
than six inches, other than temporary cloth signs as herein-
after specified# illuminating electrical sign; and all-metal
signs, except, however, enclosed revolving signs when projected
from the building line for a distance not greater than twelve
inches, and signs exempted in section 10 of this ordinance.
SECTION 3: Signs shall be built, wired, and erected only
in accordance with the following requirements:
p,Ap*@nfipa id) The sign must be hung or suspended from
the building if possible and shall not be supported by poles
erected in the sidewalks or streets.
p*@#A&AJMb (e) The signs must be substantially bracketed
to the support with at least two brackets. The brackets must
be of steel and eabh one of sufficient cross section to with-
stand four times the stress developed at the section of maximum
unit stress.
SECTION 4: No sign shall project from thehbu�ldin$ line
nearer than four feet to the curb line. No sign Aiill ex ten&
downward nearer than nine feet to the sidewalks ground or pave-
ment*
SECTION 6: All manufactured electrical signs which are
to be hung over streets, sidewalks or alleys, shall carry the
National Board of Fire Underwriters label, and no manufactured
electrical sign which does not carry such label shall be erected
or hung over the sidewalks, streets or alleys in the City of
Wichita Falls, Texas.
SECTION 13: The applicant for the erection of a sign shall
before the issuance of a permit for the erection of same, pay
the following fees, to wit:
