ORDINANCE WAIVING SEC. 22 -1(A) (2) OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES TO PERMIT VEHICLES ON THE GRASS FOR
PARTICIPANTS ONLY DURING EVENTS BY THE WICHITA FALLS RC
CLUB ON APRIL 29, JUNE 24, JULY 29, SEPTEMBER 9, AND
SEPTEMBER 29, 2001 IN JAYCEE PARK; FINDING AND
DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE
WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the Wichita Falls RC Club wishes to host their model aircraft
tournaments in Jaycee Park on April 29, June 24, July 29, September 9, and
September 29, 2001; and
WHEREAS, the Club has conducted similar tournaments in Jaycee Park with no
problems reported; and
WHEREAS, the Club believes in order for their event to be more successful they
wish to be permitted to have their participants drive vehicles upon the grass in order to
be closer to the runways, thus, saving them from carrying their equipment from the
parking lots.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Sec. 22 -1(a) (2) of the Code of Ordinances is hereby waived to
permit vehicles on the grass for participants only during events by the Wichita Falls RC
Club on April 29, June 24, July 29, September 9, and September 29, 2001 in Jaycee
Park.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
