ORDINANCE REZONING 23.5 ACRES OUT OF BLOCK 19, DENTON
COUNTY SCHOOL LANDS, LEAGUE 1, FROM MULTIFAMILY TO
GENERAL COMMERCIAL, LIMITED COMMERCIAL AND SINGLE
FAMILY -2; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT
WHICH THIS ORDINANCE WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission recommended rezoning 23.5
acres out of Block 19, Denton County School Lands, League 1, from Multifamily to
General Commercial, Limited Commercial and Single Family -2; and
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission acknowledged that conditions
in the proposed area have changed and recommended amending the Comprehensive
Land Use Plan, an element of the Comprehensive Plan, to conform to this rezoning;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas deems that the
proposed rezoning of the area hereafter described, and amending the Comprehensive
Plan to reflect this change, will be in the public interest.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The City of Wichita Falls Land Use Plan, an element of the
Comprehensive Plan for the City of Wichita Falls, Texas is hereby amended for 23.5
acres out of Block 19, Denton County School Lands, League 1, as shown on the
attached map, incorporated in this ordinance as Attachment "A." Said property land
use designation shall be changed from Multifamily to General Commercial, Limited
Commercial and Single Family -2.
SECTION 2. Said property being the same as described in Section 1 of this
ordinance is hereby rezoned from Multifamily to General Commercial, Limited
Commercial and Single Family -2.
SECTION 3. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
